Experimental Materials In this study, the coal, molasses and coal tar pitch were provided by Baosteel Corporation from China. Table I. 33 Table II. 26 Materials used in this study include coal powder and coal tar pitch whose softening  point was 80 . Moreover, the main composition of coal tar pitch was hydrocarbons which will not add much ash content and affect slagging compared with molasses binder, also, using coal tar pitch as the binder meant improving the content of carbon in coal briquettes, so the calorific value of coal briquettes can be improved.
